SISTER SNAKE is @amandaleekoe modern reimagining of the Chinese folktale “The Legend of the White Snake,” about one white snake, one green, both transformed into women bound by their love and ancient secret across the span of centuries. 

This book is filled with dark humor, raw emotion, queerness, chosen family, and explores the concept of bonds and freedom: how can we be accepted (and accept ourselves) exactly as we are.

Karan (करण) Singh is a visual artist based in Naarm (Melbourne)
Australia.

Singh has worked as an artist, creative director and consultant defining visual languages for use in fashion, technology, music and more for over 15 years.

Artistically, Singh’s interests lie in the banality of shapes and objects which often feature as the subjects of his work. His explorations investigate how we transform the banal into the extraordinary by implanting them with hope, ritual and nostalgia.

His art lives in an eclectic variety of mediums, from prints and sculpture to clothing and augmented reality installations.

Through his career he has lived and worked in New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Malmö, Sydney and Melbourne.

My love for books runs deep. Bookstores were my favorite place to visit as a child, I received a double major in English Literature and Drama from the University of Virginia, and I went on to author *The Women's Health Big Book of Yoga* and *Aim True*. My most recent work was published in Zosia Mamet’s anthology, *My First Popsicle*, but my true loves have yet to meet the world — I too write fiction, and long to see it in published form. I co-host Free Cookies with my wife (and author!), Kate Fagan, where we banter and interview notables such as Madeline Miller, TJ Klune, George M. Johnson, and Emily St. John Mandel. Plus, we have the cutest rescue pup in the world: Ragnar Ashison.
