Consideration means reviewing manuscripts and deciding which book we want to publish. At the end of this phase, we offer an author a book deal.

Editorial has several phases, which occur on a parallel track with early cover designs.

Design includes the cover process and interior layout, as well as format decisions like paper stocks and special treatments.

Printing means the final files are at the printer and we’re reviewing color proofs and early off copies hot off the press.

My love for books runs deep. Bookstores were my favorite place to visit as a child, I received a double major in English Literature and Drama from the University of Virginia, and I went on to author *The Women's Health Big Book of Yoga* and *Aim True*. My most recent work was published in Zosia Mamet’s anthology, *My First Popsicle*, but my true loves have yet to meet the world — I too write fiction, and long to see it in published form. I co-host Free Cookies with my wife (and author!), Kate Fagan, where we banter and interview notables such as Madeline Miller, TJ Klune, George M. Johnson, and Emily St. John Mandel. Plus, we have the cutest rescue pup in the world: Ragnar Ashison.
